Itinerary

We leave Cusco by private bus, stopping first to visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. Then we head through the mountains, to reach the typical and folkloric town of Paucartambo. Here we will take a short walk through the town before continuing to Tres Cruces, the highest point and the entrance to the Manu National Park. From here we will continue to the Cloud Forest and in San Pedro we will walk for about 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru, the cock of the rocks and different types of monkeys, plants and flowers. We arrive at our hostel at night where we will sleep.

We will start the zip line activity with one of the most reliable operators in the area. This activity is optional (US$35) and lasts approximately two hours. Breakfast. Then, we will have a transport to the hydroelectric plant, where the government control is located to enter the Machu Picchu National Park (Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu). At this point we will begin our walk towards the town of Aguas Calientes, passing through the sector called Intihuatana, a small archaeological site where the guide will give us an explanation. Then we will continue to Inka Rakay, where we will enjoy our lunch. On the way we will have the opportunity to contemplate the majestic mountains Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and other constructions. We will end the walk in the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the second night.

This is the most important day of the tour to get to know one of the seven wonders of the world. We will leave very early, to be able to appreciate the sunrise in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Our day begins with the option of walking or taking the bus (US$12). Once inside the archaeological park, your guide will give you a two-hour tour of the most important temples, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, and others. Then you will be able to explore Machu Picchu on your own and, if you booked it in advance, climb Huayna Picchu (height: 2800 meters above sea level) or Machu Picchu mountain (height: 3082 meters above sea level). It is necessary to book two months in advance and the additional cost is US$20. There are only four hundred tickets per day to climb one of these two mountains. We also recommend taking advantage of this place to relax, meditate and rest, taking advantage of the magical and spiritual energies of this great wonder, Machu Picchu. Later we will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco (train not included).
