Itinerary

1st Day: Cusco - Km 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes

Our journey starts early in the morning. After our arrival by train at km 104, the Royal Inca Trail begins with a hike to Chachabamba (2270m/7448f), where our guide will brief us on the former function of this archaeological site. Then, we will arrive at Wiñayhuayna (2650m/8694f), the most important archaeological site besides Machu Picchu. After that, our path continues towards the Puerta del Sol “Inti Punku”, a nice viewpoint from which we can enjoy the sunset at Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f). Since we have to continue our trek to our hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will only spend a short time at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary on the first day. Walking time: 06 hours Total distance: 12 km.

2nd Day: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu Sanctuary - Cusco

Saldremos de nuestro hotel rumbo a Machu Picchu después del desayuno a eso de las 5:30 am en bus O CAMINANDO. Salimos así de temprano porque a esta hora el entorno está menos concurrido y la mañana es un buen momento para disfrutar de la tranquilidad y el espíritu ancestral del yacimiento arqueológico más conocido del continente. Luego de nuestra llegada a la ciudadela alrededor de las 6:00 am, nuestro guía nos brindará información detallada sobre Machu Picchu y la historia y cultura de los Incas. A partir de entonces, tendrá suficiente tiempo libre para disfrutar y explorar el sitio por su cuenta (por ejemplo, vaya al Puente Inka, explore la variedad de edificios o suba a Waynapicchu para obtener una imagen panorámica increíble). Un autobús te lleva a Aguas Calientes. Aquí tienes la posibilidad de incorporarte a las termas del pueblo (S10). Saldremos de Aguas Calientes por la tarde.
