Itinerary

In the afternoon, we will visit the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, where you will appreciate incomparable pieces of religious art. Then, we will take a tour of the first Inca ruin on the route: The Qorikancha or "Temple of the Sun", a religious structure on which the Convent of Santo Domingo stands. Afterwards, we will go to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán, one of the most important and valuable architectural exhibitions in Latin America. After touring it, we will visit Qenqo, a ceremonial archaeological complex that will surprise you with its peculiar design. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, a famous temple dedicated to water, where its ancient fountains and pools still function today. Likewise, Puka Pukara, a fortress with beautiful walls and terraces. The end of the tour will be at approximately 6 pm.

The pick up from your hotel will be between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., once the entire group is complete, we will head north. Our first visit will be Chinchero, a picturesque town, where we can see agricultural terraces, the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui, the beautiful colonial temple built on the foundations of an Inca building and we will observe the entire wool process from washing and spun into beautiful textiles. Continuing with our tour we will arrive at Moray, where we will observe several natural holes that were terraces for agricultural experimentation. Then we will continue to the Salineras de Maras, in this place we will observe the natural process of salt extraction that dates from the time of the Incas. Then we go to the Ollantaytambo Fortress, built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle. At the end and back on the bus we go to the town of Urubamba, where we will have our buffet lunch, after lunch we will go to the town of Pisac where we will visit the Archaeological Complex of Pisac, built in the period of the Inka Pachacuteq. Its location is strategic, since it is located on top of a mountain, which allows it to have a view of the entire valley that went to Antisuyo. At the end of the tour we will return to the City of Cusco, arriving in Cusco at 7:00 p.m. approximately.

Very early we will transfer from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo providing you with a personalized service, since we handle small groups. It is here where we will board the train that passes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes by train, on this route you will enjoy beautiful landscapes until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Once in Aguas Calientes we can take the bus that will take us to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The trip takes 30 minutes, finally we will arrive at Machu Picchu, you will be amazed by this monument considered one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World, immediately our tourism professional will start the guided tour so that you can better understand the history and architecture of the City Machu Picchu Inca. After the tour, you will board the return bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to eat your food and go to the train station, where you will return to the Ollantaytambo station, once there you will board the bus. from the train company for your return to Cusco. Starting early from Cusco we begin our 9-10 hours journey by private minibus ascending to the high mountain area at 4000 m (13,000 feet). We make a stop in Ninamarca, to see the pre-Inca cemetery, and in the colonial village of Paucartambo. Then we descend the eastern slopes of the Andes through cloud forest with lush vegetation (ferns, orchids, bromeliads etc.). We enjoy spectacular views of the Andes and can see wildlife such as our national bird: the bright red Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola peruviana) showing his mating dance. Walking along the road brilliantly colored Tanagers, Quetzals, Trogons, Tucanets and Hummingbirds, as well as hawks can be seen and possibly the first monkeys, such as Woolly Monkeys. In the late afternoon we arrive at Bamboo Lodge (950m), where we spend the night. Optional night walk After dinner your guide will brief you about the activities of the following day. After an early breakfast we continue with our minibus: we pass the village of Pilcopata and cross the river of the same name to get to the small port of Atalaya (600 m). On the way we stop for some walks to observe birds also we stop an animal rescue station and to look for orchids. Before reaching Atalaya we enjoy a great view of the river basin from a lookout point. At the port we embark on a Half hour journey in a 15-meter motorized canoe down the Alto Madre de Dios River. On the way we will walk on the trails near the river and visit Machuwasi Lake, on the opposite side of the river. We use a wooden raft to explore the lake and observe the birdlife. Then we navigate for about 4 hours in a motorized canoe down the Alto Madre de Dios River to get to the lowland rainforest until our lodge on the way We have the opportunity to see wildlife along the rocky banks of the river, such as Fasciated Tiger Herons, Purplish Jays, Skimmers and some of the monkey species that live in Manu. In the evening we walk about 1 hour through primary rainforest to the mammal salt lick of the reserve. To have the best chance to observe animals - especially the tapir - we spend the time on an elevated platform Your guide will help spotting the tapir with a light. We spend the night at Dorado Lodge. Accommodation: rooms & private bathroom.

Today we start early 04:30 am to continue our boat ride travelling into the Reserved Zone of Manu Park. We reach the mouth of the Manu River to its junction with the Alto Madre de Dios River. Here the water changes from quiet and tea brown to clear and fast-flowing. and after a stop at Limonal Park Station, where our permit is checked, we travel upriver into the heart of Manu. During this boat trip the scenery and wildlife viewing along the banks of the Manu River is fabulous. White Caimans (Caiman crocodylus) sunning on the beaches, turtles, capybara and plenty of colorful birds may be seen. And there is always the possibility of seeing larger animals such as Tapir and Jaguar. After our lunch We will explore trails through virgin forest of the Reserved Zone of Manu Park. As a highlight we visit the beautiful oxbow-lake looking for Giant River Otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) and to observe caimans. After returning to the lodge, we have an evening night walk to see insects, frogs, snakes etc.

At dawn we travel downriver by boat to the parrot clay lick. This is a special place where parrots, parakeets and small macaws, including the Chestnut fronted Macaw come to eat minerals which help them with digestion. After the natural show we back to our lodge for our breakfast. After some final in Manu National Park, we will travel back up the alto Madre De Dios River We continued up the river making some stops to see some birds and monkeys. We will also make a small stop to relax in the thermal baths. We will arrive at the port of Atalaya where our comfortable bus waits for Us. Then we will continue again up through the cloud forest, with some stops. We stop whenever we spot animals and we have lunch on the way. Then we travel up to the Andes again, arriving in Cusco at around 7 pm. Transfer to your hotel.
