This tour presents some of the most interesting Inca sites in Cusco. The tour begins with a visit to the colonial town of Maras and its church. From Maras we continue to the nearby Inca site of Moray, a magnificent series of circular terraces carved into the ground that were once used by the Incas to experiment with crops. Our final destination is the salt mines that have been in use since Pre-Inca times. Water from an underground stream is channeled through ponds where it evaporates, leaving crystals of pure salt. With thousands of white pools stretching throughout the valley, the views are breathtaking.
