Our guide will pick you up from our office in our private vehicle at 08:30 am to start the Classic Sacred Valley tour. We will begin the day by traveling from Cusco over the mountains towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
After driving for 45 minutes, we make our first stop either at the Alpaca Farm Animal Sanctuary to visit and observe some unique Andean animals. We will then continue to one of the viewpoints of the Sacred Valley, known as Taray. Here you will be amazed by the awe-inspiring views of the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba River (The source of the longest river in the world – the Amazon River).
Continuing on, you will then visit and explore with your guide one of the largest archeological sites of the sacred valley of the Incas – Pisac.
After the guided tour of the ruins, you will have time to explore the famous Pisac local market. At the market, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the skilled craftsmanship of the many local artisans. Later, you will drive along the Urubamba River (Wilcamayu River) for about one hour to reach Urubamba where you will enjoy a typical lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we continue to the archeological site of Ollantaytambo. At this enigmatic site, you will get a comprehensive guided tour from your guide and explore the stone temple of the sun, which is aligned with the nearby mountains to track important astronomical events including solstices.
Lastly, you will visit the town of Chinchero, well known for its extensive farming terraces, the Colonial Church of Saint Peter, and an Andean textile center. You´ll also see the local villagers wearing their typical clothes, just as in ancient times. After visiting Chinchero, we head back to Cusco and drop you near main square.
