In the morning, our specialized birdwatching guide will pick you up from your hotel between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. in a private minivan, where we will immerse ourselves in the magic of Peruvian birdlife. Visiting two hummingbird sanctuaries in a single day offers a complete immersion experience in the ecosystem. We will depart from the city of Cusco for a 30-minute minivan tour. Our first visit will be to the Pachacútec Hummingbird Sanctuary, where more than 40 species of birds have been recorded, as well as a botanical garden that houses more than 7,000 nectariferous plants of 47 different species. Our activity will last approximately two hours. Here we will be able to observe and photograph birds and hummingbirds. After the first activity, we will head to the Huacarpay Wetland. This place has an invaluable ecosystem with significant cultural, scenic, and ecological value, making it an important destination for birdwatching. Activities here include guided walks to observe flora and fauna, with species such as: Cinnamon Teal (Spatula cyanoptera), Yellow-billed Teal (Anas flavirostris), Plumbeous Rail (Pardirallus sanguinolentus), Common Moorhen (Gallinula galeata), Slate Coot (Fulica ardesiaca), Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), American Kestrel (Falco sparverius), and Wren (Phleocryptes melanops). We head to the Secret Garden Hummingbird Sanctuary. The birdwatching tour lasts approximately two hours. This sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife. It is a spectacular place designed for photographing and observing birds and hummingbirds, with species such as the bearded mountaineer (Oreonympha nobilis), the green-and-white hummingbird (Elliotomyia viridicauda), the chestnut-breasted finch (Poospizopsis caesar), the Andean partridge (Nothoprocta pentlandii), the great thrush (Turdus fuscater), the cream-crested hummingbird (Cranioleuca albicapilla), and the rufous palmate tyrant (Cnemarchus rufipennis).

It is a spectacular place designed for photographing and observing birds and hummingbird species such as: Bearded Mountaineer (Oreonympha nobilis), Green-and-white Hummingbird (Elliotomyia viridicauda), Chestnut-breasted Mountain Finch (Poospizopsis caesar), Andean Tinamou (Nothoprocta pentlandii), Great Thrush (Turdus fuscater), Creamy-crested Spinetail (Cranioleuca albicapilla), Rufous-webbed Bush-Tyrant (Cnemarchus rufipennis), Giant Hummingbird (Patagona gigas), White-bellied Hummingbird (Elliotomyia chionogaster), Black-backed Grosbeak (Pheucticus aureoventris), Green-tailed Trainbearer (Lesbia nuna), Black-throated Flowerpiercer (Diglossa brunneiventris), Black-tailed Trainbearer (Lesbia victoriae), Eared Dove (Zenaida auriculata), Sparkling Violetear (Colibri coruscans), Mitred Parakeet (Psittacara mitratus), Rusty Flowerpiercer (Diglossa sittoides) y Peruvian Pygmy-Owl (Glaucidium peruanum). We continue a trip in our tourist transport for 1 hour to our next destination towards the Ensifera Camp, here we can observe species of birds and hummingbirds such as: Rust-and-yellow Tanager (Thlypopsis ruficeps). As also: Green-and-white Hummingbird (Elliotomyia viridicauda), Moustached Flowerpiercer (Diglossa mystacalis), Tyrian Metaltail (Metallura tyrianthina), Shining Sunbeam (Aglaeactis cupripennis), White-tufted Sunbea (Aglaeactis castelnaudii), Violet-throated Starfrontlet (Coeligena violifer), Mountain Velvetbreast (Lafresnaya lafresnayi), Sword-billed Hummingbird (Ensifera ensifera), Red-crested Cotinga (Ampelion rubrocristatus), Giant Conebill (Conirostrum binghami), Tit-like Dacnis (Xenodacnis parina) y Rusty-fronted Canastero (Asthenes ottonis). After birdwatching, we'll take our tour bus for a 15-minute drive to our restaurant for a buffet lunch in Urubamba. We'll then continue for 30 minutes to the wonderful Huaypo Lagoon, considered a reflecting pool, ideal for birdwatching, with records of up to 94 species. Free time to explore the lagoon and enjoy the natural landscape, photograph, and observe bird species such as: Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia), Crested (DuckLophonetta specularioides), White-cheeked Pintail (Anas bahamensis), Silvery Grebe (Podiceps occipitalis), Spotted Sandpiper (Actitis macularius), Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis), Cream-winged Cinclodes (Cinclodes albiventris), Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea), Aplomado Falcon (Falco femoralis), Andean Lapwing (Vanellus resplendens) y Many-colored Rush Tyrant (Tachuris rubrigastra).
