CUMBE MAYO

The tour to Cumbe Mayo begins in the Plaza de Armas of Cajamarca, from where you embark on a panoramic trip to the Bellavista Viewpoint, an ideal point to appreciate the city and the valley. During the journey, the guide explains the history and geography of the region. Already in Cumbe Mayo, we visit the Sanctuary carved in rock and the famous Tunnel of Wishes, decorated with ancient petroglyphs that reflect the pre-Inca worldview. We will continue towards the impressive Rock Forest, eroded volcanic formations that resemble human and animal figures, the perfect setting for stories of local myths and legends. Finally, we will visit the Altar of Sacrifices and the ancient hydraulic canal of Cumbe Mayo, a masterpiece of engineering carved more than 3,000 years ago. Walking next to this aqueduct is discovering how ancient cultures took advantage of water in the middle of a mystical and natural environment. Return to the city of Cajamarca.
